AGENCY/ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION: Elan Gardens is an Assisted living residence for older, senior adults. It is designed for people who need some help managing their day to day activities but do not require nursing home care. It consists of 60 private apartment suites offering a supportive residential environment. There are terrific STUDENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Volunteers are needed to accompany residents on outings and trips such as shopping, entertainment and doctors appointments (transportation would be provided) to read to residents, play cards, exercise, write a letter for them, to visit or to go for a walk with them.
FACULTY/STAFF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: To assist with the planning and conducting of health fairs, provide training to staff, and or education to residents.
TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED FOR VOLUNTEERS: No minimum.... an hour a week would be greatly appreciated.
